Carolina Sambo is a pioneer who, at the age of 21, left her native Mozambique and became the first woman to arrive in Argentina, within the framework of the social project headed in that African country by the Argentine priest Juan Gabriel Arias, to study nursing thanks to a scholarship, and that a few months after receiving it he plans to return to his homeland to work with people who live with HIV/AIDS and malnutrition. The young woman who is now 26 years old arrived in Buenos Aires five years ago, from Xai-Xai, in the province of Gaza, and is studying the fourth year of her degree in Nursing at the Argentine Catholic University (UCA). "I am the fourth person from Father Juan's mission to come to Argentina and the first woman," she tells Télam. It was Father Arias, who is in charge of a Catholic mission in Mangundze, Mozambique, which receives different support from the Messi Foundation, Pope Francis, supportive doctors, anonymous donors, White Helmets and other institutions, who offered him the possibility of studying in the country.
