Researchers from Conicet and Fleni developed the first virtual assistant on WhatsApp in the country specialized in the use of artificial intelligence to recognize symptoms of cerebrovascular accident (CVA), a condition that is one of the "main causes of disability and mortality throughout the world." world," those responsible for the project assured Télam within the framework of World Stroke Day, which is commemorated every October 29. "Our development is one of the few initiatives in the world that is working on this particular pathology, which is very important in public health," neurologist Mauricio Farez, head of the project and director of the Center for the Research of Neuroimmunological Diseases (CIEN) that operates in Fleni. The work is promoted by different centers of the Fleni Foundation in association with Conicet and the national company Entelai, which provides artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for medical care. "This assistant was a work of almost five years of developing algorithms using artificial intelligence to train it to better recognize the symptoms," recalled Farez, a researcher at Conicet and a master's degree in Public Health from Harvard University.
