The Commission of Private Home Workers resolved on Friday to increase the minimum remuneration of domestic staff for the October-December period by 34%. It is broken down into 12% in October, another 12% in November and 10% in December on the basics of September. “It is not cumulative,” clarified Carlos Brasesco, from the Private Home Staff Union. It was agreed, in principle, that the Commission would meet again in December to reassess the salary situation of private home staff. In September, the basic price for the largest category (Personnel for general tasks), which includes cleaning, washing, ironing, maintenance, preparation and cooking of meals and, in general, all other household tasks, was $1,057 per hourly or $129,670 monthly with withdrawal, and $1,140 per hour or $144,191 monthly without withdrawal.
